Summary
This photo is tied to a very important time in my life. I remember seeing this exact photo in elementary school when learning about the star spangled banner origin. The actual picture is the image of U.S. Marines planting the American flag on Iwo Jima during World War II, so its historical significance is of no question. But at the time I saw the photo I was still just a young kid living my best life in elementary school. This is why this picture is so significant to me.
